Ecumenical Carol Service 2020

Covid-19 has put paid to so much of our lives over the past 10 months. Carol Singing and Choral Performances in our churches over the festive season are the latest casualties to fall before the Coronavirus.

In ordinary times our Ecumenical Carol Service would be a highlight of our Advent diary. This year’s Service was to be held in St Finbarr’s Church, but since this is not permissible, Rev. Colin Mc Conaghie has arranged a virtual Carol Service instead, a recording made up of Scripture Readings (by various retailers in the town), Seasonal Carols (by various singers and musicians from our churches), Prayers (by Rev. Colin) and a Reflection (by myself).

This has been recorded over the past number of weeks, and will be launched on Tuesday 15th December by way of our Parish Website www.carrickmacrossparish.ie ( on home page scroll to the bottom of the page to Quick Links), and on various local Facebook platforms- St Josephscarrickmacross facebook page, Corduff/ Raferagh facebook page , carrickmacrossgroupchurchofireland facebook , Machaire Rois utube .
