Cavan and Monaghan Hospital is holding a Health Promotion Information Day for tots to teens on Saturday 3rd October 2015 from 11am to 4 p.m in Cavan General Hospital.

Farm Safety (Teagasc), Fire Safety in the home ( Cavan fire brigade will be on site with their fire engine),

Correct use of schoolbags, footwear, physical exercise (Physiotherapy dept), Ambulance personnel with their ambulance, Garda Liaison officer, Drugs & Alcohol (addiction counsellor). The benefits of play in hospital, meet the play specialist, children are encouraged to bring their own doll/teddy.The benefits of playbase learning in promoting childrens’ health and wellbeing(Denise Cormilla CEO National Childhood network), Water Safety (Olivia Quinn), Healthy Lunches, (Dietetics dept), Road Safety Authority (RSA), Healthy Heart/resusitation, smoking prevention, continence promotion, bone health, How to manage your asthma (Clincal Nurse Specialists) Continence Promotion (Dr Van Der Spek, Consultant Paediatricain) Importance of using correct footwear (Podiatrist)Oral/Dental Health (Dental Health Promotion Officer),Health Promoting Schools (Monica Mc Crory)

While maintaining a party atmosphere with music, fun activities eg, Peppa Pig, The Minions , Marty Moen ( Hit the Diff) facepainting, healthy snacks and drinks and GAA stars, we encouage children to bring along their questions and suggestions.
