This day will be an opportunity for the diocese to give thanks to God for Bishops Duffy’s Ministry of service to the people of the Diocese and for his many scholarly gifts.

Ordination to the Diaconte of Martin Donnelly, St Michael’s Church , Enniskillen, Sunday 17 June 3pm. This will be a truly historic moment for the diocese as we celebrate the first ever ordination to the permanent diaconte in Clogher. Parishioners from across the diocese are invited to come to Enniskillen to participate in this liturgy and to witness this moment in the history of the ministry of our diocese.

What is a Deacon?

The ministry of Deacon goes back to the earliest days of the Church (see Acts of the Apostles 6: 1-6). A deacon is an ordained minister of the Church, one who serves in the parish and in the wider community. The Second Vatican Council brought forward a renewal of ministry for both lay and ordained – by our baptism we are all called to participate in the saving work of the Church. Among the wide range of ministries in the Church today is that of the permanent Deacon, a ministry that includes married men.

Ordination to the Priesthood of Rev. Sean Mulligan, St Macartan’s Cathedral Sunday 1st July 3pm. We are also overjoyed to inform you of Sean’s ordination. The ordaining prelate will be Bishop Noel Treanor, Bishop of Down and Connor. All parishioners from across the diocese are invited to come to the Cathedral to participate in this liturgy.
